Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Capstone
Please see attached PDF for further instructions and word documents as templates
This project builds on the work done in the Yellow Belt project. If you completed the Yellow Belt Specialization and its capstone project, you can add the new, bolded items in this project to your existing Yellow Belt project. If you did not complete the Yellow Belt Specialization capstone project, you will need to complete this entire assignment. There are two supporting documents: Project Charter Team Charter To complete this capstone, you will develop a plan for a six sigma project of your choosing. This should be a department or process level project. • Define o Create a charter for a your project including: § Problem statement: should be concise, clear and measurable. § Business Case: Answer at least one question explaining why it is important. § Goal Statement: Overall goal of the project (SMART) § Improvement goals: At least two specific measures of success § Process description § Project scope: describe the specific boundaries of the project. § Who are the key stakeholders? § Who will the team members be? (at least 4) § Create a timeline o Create a charter for your project team § Develop a set of expectations (with your team’s participation if possible). • Measure o Create a data collection plan, Including both process and VOC data § What will you measure § What is the data type § Execute the data collection plan • Analyze o Create a Process Map o Write null and alternative hypotheses for each of the measures you proposed (before and after improvement). o Analyze your data using appropriate statistical methods and other process analysis tools. • Improve o Identify possible improvements o Select One improvement • Control o Develop a control plan based on the improvement you selected. These documents should be compiled into a single PDF file in the following order: • Project Charter • Team Charter • Data Collection plan • Process Map • Hypotheses • Documentation of statistical analysis • Documentation of other process analysis • Document how you selected one improvement • Control Plan • A short reflection on the lessons learned from the Green Belt training, and the capstone. The combined document must be submitted as a PDF file type and submitted for peer review.

Problem Statement
* time,
* measurable item,
* gap
* business impact
Manual human packaging could hamper creativity, waste time, and contribute to errors.
Business Case
* Why is this project important to do now?
* What is the project’s financial impact?
* What is the impact on defects per million opportunities (DPMO/ Sigma level?
* What is the impact on customer service
Repetitive processes such as packaging can be monotonous and prone to errors.
The solution to these challenges involves adopting robotic mechanized packaging systems.
A robotic packaging system can be faster with and minimal errors. The people who could be doing packaging would be directed to other areas that would require human input or skilled activity that needs reasoning.
Generally, this is a step towards defects per million opportunities (DPMO).
Goal Statement
* Specific
* Measurable
* Achievable
* Realistic
* Time-bound
The core purpose of robotic packaging is to reduce errors and time of services within a month

* Describe the process in which the problem exists
The packaging data comes contained in an email attachment file. They ought to download and manually create an excel sheet out of such data.
Users must download and convert into excel manually. The repetition of this process often culminates in boredom, creativity waste, and increased risk of errors.
Project Scope
What part of the process will be addressed?
What are the boundaries of the project or process?
What areas are inside or outside the team’s focus or authority?
Attach a SIPOC diagram if necessary
The whole process involves automation. The goods will be packed robotically while simultaneously, information is captured regarding packaging and generating reports.
The boundary is represented by a set process and rule, which does not need a human decision.
The entire process is inside focused
approach.
