Corporate Governance/Programmatic Learning Outcomes Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Course Instructor Due Date Corporate Governance/Programmatic Learning Outcomes Corporate governance is defined as a system of rules, processes, and practices that direct and control a firm’s operation. Based on the significance of corporate governance to a firm, the entire process is managed by the company’s board of directors. Researchers expound on this concept by showing that the functioning of corporate governance is founded on the 4P’s, which are people, performance, process, and purpose. Additionally, corporate governance is associated with outlining an organization’s ethical beliefs as well as providing it with a working roadmap that helps it achieve the stipulated goals and activities. The author’s approach entailed pooling financial and non-financial variables in designing a fraud detection model. The approach has been scholarly supported, with some researchers indicating that the interconnectedness between corporate governance and fraud cannot be ignored. Fraud cannot be ignored because it reveals how approximately 40% of companies that have experienced these scandals have experienced losses in terms of soiled reputation, decreased staff motivation, and damaged business relations (Law, 2011). The bigger picture about corporate governance, ethics, and fraud is that the latter has increasingly become complicated, and every organization faces the risk of scandals. The risk is even more pronounced if the top management commits it since it is collusive in nature and hard to detect. A good example of this is the rece...
