The governmental legislation and human resource (HR) function are designed to protect employees against discrimination in the workplace. In particular, HR ensures that the recruitment process is transparent such that an organization only hires qualified candidates regardless of their race. When it comes to the federal government, it has established various regulations to combat employee discrimination. Some of the discriminatory practices include harassment based on gender, race, age, ethnicity, disability, skin color, religion, and national origin.
