Forgiveness is very important for servant leaders because it improves their relationships with the employees and also brings out the best in people. Servant leaders need to understand the concept of gratitude, forgiveness, and consciousness. A good servant leader will always display gratitude in regard to the performance displayed by the followers. Expressing gratitude means that a servant leader has sincere and regular expressions towards every individual in the organization (Dutton, Jane & Gretchen Pg. 150). Servant leaders need to be responsive to the efforts of their followers because it makes them feel appreciated. Encouraging employees is an act of gratitude. Writing an email or a thank note to employees makes them feel appreciated for their hard work and commitment.
