From the article, “China in Africa,” Alexis Okeowo raises some serious concerns about how china has invaded Africa using Zambia as the case study (Okeowo). The scramble for Africa, which the colonialist pioneered, seems to be coming back again, this time in terms of investment. This is what is called modern-day colonialism. The fact that China has invested in most parts of the country makes Africans slaves to their companies. Serious allegations have been raised in the article, such as human rights violations at the mines against ILO (International labor Organizations). If not tamed, China will take overall Africa.
Akol Dok reminisces that China is slowly taking Africa via loans (Dok, and Thayer). Countries like Kenya have become an investment hub for China through loans.
