Quoting is an essential aspect of note-taking. It is a process of reproducing the exact spoken or written words. Quotes are essential as they provide robust evidence and act as an authoritative voice supporting the authors’ statement. Quoting will be important not only in classwork but also after school in that I will use the strategy to defend my argument in a discussion (Purdue Writing Lab).
