Coursework Instructions:
Part 1: Design a lesson plan on one subject from Topics 4, 5 and 6, that includes the following: Write an introduction to the class activity. Include the purpose of the activity and desired outcome. The objectives should be specific and measurable. Objectives should be aligned to standards. How long will the activity take when implemented in the classroom? Describe any materials that are needed to conduct the lesson. Provide a detailed description of the activity. Write all steps from the instruction of the assessment. Your lesson plan should be in the format of the template provided in Halo. Only Word documents can be submitted for this assignment. Part 2: Create your own video where you teach the lesson plan you prepared. The video should be no longer than 5 minutes. You will need to upload your video to a video-sharing site that provides a link that you can paste below. Your video should not be “searchable” within the video-sharing site. If you upload your video to YouTube, select the “unlisted” option, so it is not searchable. Ensure that others can access and view your linked video prior to submitting to the LMS.

Name: Date: Lesson Topic: (must be from the approved list of topics) Probabilities Overview: This should be an introduction to the class activity. In 2-3 sentences, summarize the purpose and desired outcome of the lesson. Today’s probability class will go through the fantastic world of probability and learn about multistage experiments, odds, permutations, and more. Having done this lesson, the goal is for the student to be able to use concepts realized here to solve different probability problems. National/State Learning Standards: Review national and state standards to become familiar with the standards you will be working within the classroom environment. Standards must align with the lesson’s objectives and assessments. Math Common Core standards can be found here: http://www.corestandards.org/Math/ Standard 7.SP – Investigate chance processes and develop, use, and evaluate probability models Objectives: List specific and measurable objectives. This is not a summary of the lesson, but a measurable statement demonstrating what the student will be assessed on. For instance, “understand” is not measurable, but “describe” and “identify” are. For example: Given an unlabeled map outlining the 50 states, students will accurately label all state names. 1 Students will participate in a 2-step probability experiment. 2 The students will solve incomplete probabilities using odds, conditional probability, and expected value. 3 Students will solve permutations and combinations in probability exercises. 4 Students will determine probabilities using data that are provided to them. 5 Students will be given assessments that will involve the computation of probabilities. Academic Language (optional) In this section, include a bulleted list of the general academic vocabulary and content-specific vocabulary you need to teach. In a few sentences, describe how you will teach students those terms in the lesson. General Academic Vocabulary: * Probability * Experiment * Outcome * Sample space * Event * Trial Content-Specific Vocabulary: * Random variable * Probability distrib...
