1. Difference between Population and Sample Size
A sample size entails the number of data points, items, or participants used in a specific study, which are selected from a large population. In simple terms, Denise Polit and Cheryl Beck refer to sample size as the study respondents (Polit & Beck, 2020). A well-chosen sample size represents an entire population and minimizes biases, hence promoting the reliability, accuracy, and effectiveness of the research findings. On the contrary, a population involves the entire population that researchers want to study or from which they select a sample size. As such, before choosing the sample size, researchers must first identify the group of interest or population.
