As a teacher, you will have a classroom of students who have a variety of abilities and developmental levels. It is important that teachers are knowledgeable about developmental domains, including physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional, and have strategies to develop them in the classroom.
Part 1: Developmental Domains
Using the “Developmentally Appropriate Activities” template, define each developmental domain and provide at least two examples of skills that fall under each domain for each of the following age ranges: birth-2 years, 3-4 years, 5-6 years, and 7-8 years.
Part 2: Developmentally Appropriate Activities
Select an age/grade level preschool-Grade 3 and select a theme that is appropriate for the selected age/grade level. Using Part 2 of the “Developmentally Appropriate Activities” template, create one activity for each developmental domain that relates to the selected theme and is developmentally appropriate for the selected age/grade. Include the following for each activity:
