There are several things one can do to become a great interrogator. These include:

-          Avoid the temptation to ask multiple questions. Leave the questions open to interpretation and let the interviewee respond. Allow room for silence. This only shows you are allowing the interviewee time to think and respond accordingly.

-          Do not lead the interviewee to possible answers. This only shows you are fishing for certain answers and are not looking for the truth.

-          It is okay to interject a conversation with the right questions. The importance of this lies in helping to steer a conversation in a certain direction before it goes too far to get it back to where it should be.

-          Reframe your questions to help avoid non-answers. This can happen as an interjection or a follow-up question to avoid non-answers.

-          If given vague or complicated answers, take time to repeat the answers to the interviewee. The goal of this is to get clarification or seek more details. One can easily catch someone who is lying through this interview tip.

Do not leave any stone unturned. Ask all the questions you have. Ignore the fear of embarrassment and ask your question. Do not pretend you know and yet you do not know. So, ask your questions even if you think they are bad.
