* Positivism is one of the paradigms that specifically believes that every assertion should be backed up and based on empirically proved truth. Specifically, it believes in using systematic methods to prove things, thereby rejecting those which cannot be proven in the same matter. It is essential in the study of International Politics since it is used in several fields like Economics.

1 Critical Theory is a paradigm based on the principle of 'critical thinking.' Notably, this belief is based on the idea that reality is not as objective, predictable, and rationally understandable as others believe.
