Eric Whitacre’s Lux Aurumque (Light and Gold) is fascinating to listen to. In particular, the generous melodies and glowing harmonies of his virtual choir are soothing to the listeners. Some of the words that I have heard from the choir are calida, lux, warm, and light. Being a classical composer and conductor, Whitacre’s band and choral composition are outstanding. Although I did not understand much of the symphony, I have enjoyed listening to it. The way the choir starts with the word light and ends with a newborn baby is interesting.
