The Harlem Rennaissance came at a time in which the African-Americal literacy works were undergoing tremendous development. The area of the focus was the black community in the rural South, and the epicenter of literature is the African-American plight. African-American authors felt that they were properly positioned to tell their southern experience. A significant number of black American had inhabited the Southern rural localities. Zora Neale Hurston explored rural South in the modern and past historical heritage of blacks. The rural southern was a perfect ground for writers due to a sense of ancestrypp.695. Du Bois and James Weldon Johnson argued that African-America authors could provide clarity to the nature of the American black community. The urban experience amongst the literary community is fundamental to American expression (Gilyard, pp.695).
