Differences between legally required benefits, and discretionary benefits
Due to the competition that has been in there, the organizations are interested in making sure that they have motivated their employees through offering compensations to increase the company`s productivity (Martocchio, pg 54). Therefore, there are two types of compensations benefit offered. First, there are discretional benefits and the other one is legally required benefit.
Legally required benefits are program that are established by the government to ensure that individuals are protected from catastrophes that include disability and unemployment. These benefits are brought about by rapid growth of industrialization especially in U.S during the 20th century and the greatest depression of the 1930.
