Evidence-Based Policing (EBP) is a tactical decision-making approach that allows police departments to take wise, timely and accurate decisions. Some of its major elements are emphasizing the need and value of statistical analysis, randomized controlled trials, and empirical research. Evidence-based policing seeks to create awareness among policymakers and police officers regarding the need to test, target and track different resources, especially when the budget is low and great security is required.
