Overview
This assignment is the third in a series of four assignments on the same topic, due in Weeks 2, 4, 7, and 9. The assignments build upon each other.
Remember, as a reporter or Department of Justice investigator, you are using your critical thinking and information literacy skills to assess an ethnic, racial, gender, or class issue causing problems for and affecting a specific community or group of people. Your goal is to provide both an in-depth analysis of and put a human face on this issue by writing an article or report that will be presented at a professional conference.
Preparation
You will continue using your critical thinking and information literacy skills to research and write about an important ethnic, racial, gender, or class issue affecting a specific community or group of people. Your goal is to provide both an in-depth analysis of and put a human face on this issue.
For this assignment, you will write the second part of your article or report, focusing on proposed changes (or changes already implemented) to help solve the community's problems. You will consider the benefits and challenges of those changes.
Incorporate the feedback you receive on both parts of the article or report from your instructor as you prepare for your final assignment--the slide presentation due in Week 9.
Requirements
Write a 2-3 page (750-1,000 words) paper in which you:
Describe 2-3 changes (economic, social, political, legal, et cetera) that could possibly improve the situation.
Describe the interventions in those examples that have been attempted to rectify the issue.
Analyze 2-3 benefits (economic, social, political, legal, et cetera) that could be realized following the changes.
Explain how the changes could resolve the challenges and benefit the groups involved.
Describe 2-3 challenges (economic, social, political, legal, et cetera) to implementing or maintaining the changes.
You don't have to agree with all challenges; just understand that they are possible.
Analyze one of the more significant challenges in more detail.
Describe the argument against the change.
Describe a defense of the change, in spite of problems.
Use five or more credible, relevant, and reliable references in addition to the textbook.
Three sources can be the same as the ones used in the first part of your article or report. The others must be new sources.

Introduction
Having established that gender inequality exists in societies, the paper indicates that women across America are disadvantaged in the labor market, education, as well as in their social relations. Earlier steps like the Equal Pay Act of 1963 and the recent hashtag movement of #MeToo are evident. Yet, parity is unequal across employment sectors regarding wages, opportunities, or representation and, most importantly, in liberties such as parental leaves (US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, n.d.; Parker & Funk, 2017).
While the preceding sections used these problematics to perform analyses, this section offers suggestions for engaging in transformative practices that might alleviate these difficulties and work towards equity. For this reason, this report aims to analyze the prospects and pitfalls of such transformations to create a comprehensive resource that would provide a sustainable approach to achieving gender equality Parker & Funk, 2017).
Suggested Amendments Concerning Gender Discrimination
Economic Changes
Wage Transparency Laws
Making wage transparency mandatory is one way that will ensure the gender pay gap is bridged. These laws work in a way that if organizations are mandated to reveal their salary offering, the laws draw out the inequalities, making the employers fix them. Other countries have applied similar measures with significant results because the publicity of pay auditors has prompted organizations to reconsider and address the disparities (Obloj & Zenger, 2022; Blau & Kahn, 2017).
Federal Paid Parental Leave Policies
A fully funded federally mandated program to provide paid parental leave would entitle families and redress the severe imbalance in work-life support systems. Unlike many developed countries, the USA has no national policy, and it is up to companies to decide individually. The program would especially be advantageous for women who wish to continue working while they have young children at home.
Social and Cultural Changes
Mentorship Programs for Women
It is crucial to broaden the opportunities in leadership positions for men who act as mentors to other personnel. Since mentorship combines guidance in dealing with the barriers stemming from the gendered structures of organizations with establishing relationships that allow the women to advance in their careers, the university's focus on implementing specific […] From research on the corporate experience, it is, therefore, evident that such programs promote higher retention levels and diversity at the organizational upper levels (Eby et al., 2013).
Public Awareness Campaigns
The stigma associated with women and even objects has not changed and still dominates in people's consciousness. Others like the #HeForShe may counter these biases and thus may create a culture that supports change. In so doing, these initiatives can recast masculinities and femininities so that boys and men can care for girls and women (UN Women, n.d.).
Policy and Legal Changes
Strengthened Anti-Discrimination Laws
On the one hand, the existing anti-discrimination legislation is somewhat effective on paper but can be pretty weak in practice. Enhancing these frameworks through the installation of tough penalties and checks for noncompliance would reduce discrimination. This is well accomplished when discrimination in employment and promotions is dealt with and how to address grievances (American Bar Association, 2021).
Gender Representation Quotas
This paper further affirms that the best practice in countries such as Norway has been to introduce quotas whereby women are confined to some 40% of leadership roles, governance structures, and corporate boards. These steps ensure that women themselves are engaging in leadership ...
