SIX ACTS OF GOD
The six acts of God summarize the different books of the Bible that together tell God’s true story and His goal and plan to set the world again rightly. The six significant acts are close to a drama as they were not only written on paper, but they were lived, acted, and performed just like any other drama. God's major acts were written so that we could re-live them as we read them, and they are intended to renew people's lives and return them to their original calling.
ACT ONE
The act of creation is one of the significant Six Acts of God, and all the drama starts with God creating a world and everything in it. The first few pages of the Book of Genesis describe how God created the whole world in just seven days; as of the first day, He created the earth, light, and darkness (Wyche). On the second day, God created the Heavens; then, on the other remaining days, He created animals, man, land, moon, sun, and other living things till the seventh day when God rested. Finally, God created man in His image, Adam and Eve, and gave them control over all his creations, especially the animals and plants (Biblica Inc., 4). This shows God's ultimate intention for humanity, to be in a good relationship with Him and to His creations through giving them authority. Thus, in the beginning, the Bible shows how human intentions were pure and significant in shaping the world or decision making, which is their purpose as defined by the Bible.
Additionally, God’s act of creating man in His image was to create a temple for himself in the world he had made where he would dwell and live with his creations. In general, this act reveals God’s intention and desire for the world and the gift of life that He gave to humanity (Wyche). The act also defines or reveals the reason behind man's creation; to be in charge of the other creations that the creator had made and to be God’s temple where He would dwell on the earth (Biblica inc., 4).
ACT TWO
The second act is the fall and exile of humanity; this starts with Adam and Eve following Satan’s advice and eating the forbidden fruit that God had instructed them against eating. The act is further elaborated in the Book of Genesis from chapters 3 to 11, and it reveals what happened to God's most important creation, man. Adam and Eve followed and sought their wisdom while doubting God’s advice of not eating from the fruit of wisdom in the middle of the garden. This disobedience introduced sin into the whole world, and for that same reason, God cast Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden (Biblica Inc., 4). The other consequences of humanity’s disobedience were brokenness, loneliness, shame, and death, which replaced God’s gifts of life-, health and life-giving purpose. The first exile involves God getting separated, hides away from man, yet, in the beginning, He had made plans to stay with the humans in the world He had created. More even, humanity was punished to seek the way back to the garden of Eden continuously, and for the rest of their lives, they were to live in exile of the world full of suffering. This act reveals how humans separated themselves from God, thus losing God’s favor and help, thus spending the rest of their lives seeking answers in the haunting world. They are exiled with the endless curses put on them by God (Biblica Inc., 4). The act also reveals how Man cannot separate from God and lead their way as there would always be negative consequences for their actions.
ACT THREE
God’s third act was the calling of the Israelites to a mission as His chosen people. In finding a solution to the endless sins of the world, God decided to narrow down his focus to a specific group of people and commanded them to obey and follow His word. The act all started with Abraham when God made a covenant with him, and from him, a great nation would be born to wipe away the sin that had taken over the world, He made and loved. When He chose Israel, He hoped to bless them to go back to His path and show the rest of the nations what it meant to follow God's word (Biblica Inc, 5). However, this did not go as planned because they betrayed and disobeyed Him, and God punished them by letting them be taken as slaves to Egypt, where they were enslaved for decades. Despite their disobedience, God remained committed to His plan of reversing Adam and Eve’s sin and thus sent Moses to save His people, the Israelites, from slavery.
