The Biotic Principle of Spiritual Growth

According to Dr. Moffat, people are not what they were made to be because of sin because sin destroys people from living according to God's teachings. When God created us, we were without sin, and now, he has given us the grace to help us move away from sin towards him because sin is part of the barriers or distractions that impede spiritual formation and growth.
Further, according to Moffat, grace is a gift from God that allows people to discover and achieve their potential as his creatures. This implies that grace has power overseen because, through it, God gives his people a chance to grow spiritually despite that there are temptations of sin or distractions that stop people from seeking God's grace. In essence, grace has power over sin because it renews a person and sets them free from sin's burden, such as undesired behaviors.
Among the virtues that Dr. Moffat discusses, if I were to work on one throughout this semester, I would work on humility healthy relationships because I have grown to distrust people, which makes have many boundaries. Working on this virtue will help me be self-aware of myself in the sense that I will know and stop it when people are using me, and at the same time, I will not use other people for my material or spiritual gains.
