The Conflict Resolution on Syrian Civil War. Coursework

Coursework Instructions:

Put yourself in the shoes of the Spanish emperor in the 18th century. Ruling from Madrid, you are growing increasingly concerned about the growing economic separation between your country’s interior economy and the coast. Your primary concern is the threat that coastal merchants and nobles may use their growing economic prowess to seize power from the crown. Having read Smith and (somehow) Jacobs, you recognize that the best buffer against this possibility is bolstering the economic growth of Madrid. At the moment, Madrid’s economy is composed primarily of subsistence agriculture and artisnally produced luxury goods. Much of this output is consumed by the royal court and political elite. In 300 words or less, describe how you might try to kick start Madrid’s economy.

The Conflict Resolution on Syrian Civil War
Introduction
The US has worked harder to maintain its position as one of the dominating superpower countries across the globe. Notably, this has been enabled by its ability to control, helping, and supporting other countries in terms of economy, security, and financial aspects. Considering a country such as the US among the Superpowers depends on its ability to progress without the assistance of any other State fully, yet able to help other countries (Brooks and Wohlforth 15). Ideally, this gives super power States the authority to dictate on their desired governance in the dependent nations depending on their intended objectives. The study conducted by VukoviД‡ and Bernabei (420) indicate that no superpower country can support a nation without intentions. However, this becomes a bit tricky for a nation whose operations are induced and influenced by more than one superpower country with contradicting objectives. Admittedly, this sometimes results in conflicts that cannot be easily resolved, resulting from the contradicting governance from the superpower expectations. Considering the Syrian civil war case study, it is noted that the conflict that began as local become international matter with thousands losing their lives (VukoviД‡ and Bernabei 420). For that reason, this essay intends to identify and address the problem for the long time length spent in conflict resolution of the Syrian civil war, which has increasingly lost lives.
Identified Problem in Syrian Civil War
The international conflict civil war, begun as local on 6th March 2011 when a group of teenagers were arrested for Syrians pain-spraying the school with words "It your turn, doctor", as a communication intending to overthrow President Bashar Al-Assad’s regime. The war proceeded, to lead to loss of over 162000 lives, which composed of about 53000 civilians, with approximately 3 million refugees escalating to the neighboring States (Kiawoin, Rostad, Wonnenberg and Valladolid 24). Besides, the war has led to economic setbacks, increased unemployment, and left many children illiterate. As a result, this has induced threats to both the US allies and their national security. However, analyzing the unending Syrian Civil War, the major problem identified is the involvement of two superpower countries, that is, to say the US and Russia, having contracting intentions. In other words, as the US is in support of the opposition calling for government dissolution, Russia is in a noted backer of the Assad government (VukoviД‡ and Bernabei 420). If the two superpower States had made a regional dialogue platform under the umbrella of the United Nations, which should involve negotiations in line with favoring principles to both parties, the solutions to the civil war would have been acquired. Following the four negotiation trials, talking to President Assad and other rebels cannot stop the conflict, rather other favorable means should be considered.
Due to the strong friendship between the Syrian and Russian governments, Russia has been noted on many occasions trying to block resolutions more so when President Assad is to meet the UN Security Council. Considering all the attempts made in resolving the civil war in Syria, Russia has always obstructed and defended the government from facing the recommended punishment. Definitely, this comes as a result that both Russia and the United States are superpowers with almost similar strength. Besides, Russia kept on supplying the Syrian government with weapons during the war, even after being criticized(VukoviД‡ and Bernabei 420). The support rendered by Russia to Assad is focused on protecting its political interests. Using these weapons, President Assad has been committing atrocities that have created misunderstandings between his government and the United States. Despite all the noted differences, negotiation basing on either forming a transitional government or support President Assad’s regime was thought to be an amicable way the war can be addressed. However, it is indeed surprising that the President of both the United States and Russia have meant on various occasions with representatives from all the three parties, yet the war proceeds in Syria. Ideally, this has been s...
