Module 5 Discussion 1: Transitioning to Implementation
A well-structured communication plan is needed to inform stakeholders of strategic objectives, progress updates, and critical milestones. All organization members supporting the plan's goals increase its chances of success (McCreight et al., 2019). This method improves communication, avoids misinterpretations, and motivates leaders, managers, and staff to participate. However, ineffective change management could slow the shift from strategic planning to actual execution. Healthcare organizations are complicated with several divisions, staff, and procedures. Changing procedures, roles, and company culture is expected to achieve new strategic goals. Organizational change management without a unified approach is the issue.
Change management involves addressing employee concerns and providing information and tools to help them adapt. Employees may resist or feel overwhelmed throughout the transition without a well-designed change management approach, lowering morale and productivity. If the organization fails to address change difficulties, dissatisfied employees may leave for other jobs. The turnover of employees hurts productivity and makes it hard to implement strategic plans (Berawi, 2020). To minimize the effects of this issue, healthcare executives must adopt change management techniques during implementation. Early employee engagement is crucial to acknowledging their concerns and giving training and support to help them adjust to the changes (WHO, 2020). Clear explanations of differences and their expected advantages are essential. Frontline workers in planning and decision-making provide better and more practical solutions.
Good communication and change management difficulties are equally crucial for a healthcare organization's successful strategic strategy. If change is not managed well, the organization may face opposition, a drop in employee motivation, and an inability to meet strategic plan goals. Change management techniques help healthcare organizations navigate change and implement their strategy.
