In the journey of self-discovery, I have noted the profound significance of self-awareness and effective leadership. This newfound awareness stems from recognizing potential generational disparities impacting leadership dynamics, particularly when interacting with millennials in the healthcare sector. In a team meeting where generational differences in communication styles become apparent, I may prefer traditional in-person meetings as a member of the Gen X generation. Still, the younger team members may be more inclined towards virtual discussions. This recognition necessitates me to proactively bridge it by embracing diverse communication styles.

Accordingly, I realized that I prefer a leadership model that replaces control and trust with inclusion and trust. This is an emerging leadership model, especially in organizations considering the shift towards a collaborative culture. Collaboration is an increasingly crucial ingredient for organizational success and survival. My leadership role entails creating an environment where people can contribute and participate. I have an inherent commitment to continuous improvement, and thus, in-person meetings would prove necessary to build authentic relationships with my followers.
