Personal Attributes and Mediation Name Institution Course and Code Professor Date Personal Attributes and Mediation Answer 1: Navigating Bias in Workplace Interactions Personal Bias in Work Interactions Yes, I have encountered situations where personal bias influenced my interactions with colleagues at work. For instance, I was once assigned to work on a project with a person from a culture completely different from mine. I realized that the interaction with them at first was very difficult for me and led to cultural differences. Having biases towards them, I could not properly express myself, and most of the time, they seemed as if they could not do anything they were assigned. Receiving Bias at Work Yes, I have experienced being on the receiving end of bias at work. His inclination led me and my teammate to dig into conflicts, which in turn caused strained working relationships and, eventually, conflicts about who should take what responsibility. My partner's prejudice relating to my skills has irritated our collaboration and communication in general. Therefore, it wasn't easy to work together as expected. This issue came from the bias, and as a result, all the means of understanding were reduced, and the trust of the team was threatened. Contributions of Bias to Conflict Bias contributed to the conflict by creating barriers to effective communication and collaboration. The mere fact that one party holds biased, superfluous views or stereotypes towards the other could end up as the start of the process by which misunderstanding, unjustified mistrust, and resentment take place (Liddle, 2023). Discrimination towards my age brought on disputes over assignments, and this meagre cooperation affected the collaborative work process. How my other team member's prejudiced ways also shaped their behavior towards others, so they caused further divisions and inequality in the company. Because of bias, negative attitudes and behaviors were held, which resulted in the destruction of our relationship and the failure of the conflict resolution process. Answer 2: Mitigating Personal Bias in Conflict Resolution Self-Reflection and Awareness Examining our own ideas and emotional attitudes of prejudice that stand in the way of resolving a conflict makes us aware of how we t...
