Retailers continue to exert more pressure on manufacturers to develop products which are more sustainable. As such, Canadian Tire Retail also has a role to play in ensuring it can add sport products which are environmentally friendly to its assortment. Research of an international scan shows that there are various programs that Canadian Tire Retail can implement so as to make sport equipment and accessories more sustainable.

Dilemma: How to ensure the sports products that the company obtains for retail is sustainable, and any justifications as to why it should consider retailing sustainable sport products.
Ideal: Consider the global context that underlies its role and its contribution to sustainability through its retail chain.

It will include depletion of resources or other risks for the commodities that the company relies on (Yang, Xu, & Yang, 2020).
Focus on suppliers who integrate sustainability in their production processes.
Sustainability will help Canadian Tire to become more popular and increase its global recognition.

First start with the operational functions that are primarily significant to the retail business; these include products and supply chains, buildings, and stakeholder management (Yoo, 2016).
