To teach the GSE grade K-5 kids about the solar system, I will use cards wherein the parts of the solar system are printed on thick paper or card stock in different colors. One side of the card will have an image of a particular part of the solar system, and on the other side, a description. Printing in different colors will help to collect them easily after use. I will then laminate the cards to make them permanent. To teach the kids, I will ask them to stay in groups and ask what they know about the solar system to explore their imagination. I will then discuss the solar system and explain why the sun is brighter than the other stars. I will then show them one of the cards and discuss everything about the image printed on the card. Moreover, I will explain that scientists sort things through their characteristics; composition, size, and distance from the sun. After that, I will give each group one card, asking them to work as a team. I will then let them sort the planets according to their sizes and distance from the sun.
