The damning statistics that are available through the media regarding the people of color encounter with the law enforcement agency portrays a racially biased criminal justice system. According to the ABC News story, despite the people of color being the minority in the state of New York, Blacks at 23 percent and the Hispanic at 29 percent, they form the largest percentage of the population often being stopped and frisked by the police officers at 84 percent (ABC News, 2013).
