Explain the purpose of a primary key
A primary key is important when creating a database due to the various functionalities it provides the data. A primary key is the column or columns containing unique values that identify each row in a table (IBM, n.d.). The features of a primary key include; each row of data must contain a unique value, and it cannot contain null values. The key purpose of primary key is to provide a map of the database. In this function, the primary key is to create a relational database between two tables which is important for reference purposes. The use of a primary key also enables the unique and specific identification of a row of data in a table during the building of a database (Singh, 2021).
