Basically, a package is a collection or composition of classes that are related to each other. Specifically, Java IO as a package consists of either input or output related stream of classes all used in writing and reading data files. Thus, Java explicitly has three class classifications: Input Stream, Output Streams, and Everything Else.
To begin with, the Input Streams class is the one used in or when reading data from the input origin or sources. These sources can either be files, strings, or anything that contains data or information. It’s understood that all input streams originate from Input Stream. This class describes a programming design used in reading bytes, developing location marks within the stream, avoiding input bytes, determining a specific number of inputs available for reading, and lastly, helping reset the current position in the stream (Mon et al., 2018).
