Understanding the importance of auditing policies and techniques is important for any IT specialist. It allows him to have a better grasp of the various threats that exist within the network and provide preventive actions to mitigate the possibilities of breach. In this article, I would like to provide a brief overview of how to conduct a simple audit of common threats including a screenshot of the whole process.
The initial step in auditing is adding an auditing monitor within the server. To do this, one can go to ‘Windows’, then ‘Windows Security’, and finally ‘Local Policies’. This would open the GPO Manager Auditor as shown below.
