1 The Greeks were divided into small societies while the Persians worked in harmony. They were therefore greatly outnumbered and defeated during the Persian inversion. Their forces were forced to retreat during the war. The significant lesson learned is that when troops are divided, they can easily be defeated.
2 They used little army troops that were highly trained and specialized in different skills. This lead to increased effectiveness in the Sassanian army over that of its predecessor.
3 The Romans attacked after every 100 years. They did so for seven centuries. The eventually came into peace after the fall of Rome due to the attacks by barbaric tribes.
4 The attack of Iran by the nomadic Mongols led by the Genghis Khan led to the disastrous devastation of the Persian lands. Genghis Khan wanted an agreement with the Iranian monarch; those who bowed to his will were allowed to live while those that disobeyed him were killed. Timur Khan also destroyed all the religious institutions, both physical and governmental structures in Iran. The Iranian economy collapsed as a result of exploitation by the powerful Khans. The Mongol leaders mobilized resources from the Iranian land and used them to benefit his people.
5 The exceptional global value and appeal of The Sheikh Safii was its architectural and artistic originality, and a unique repsentation of the essential principles of Sufiism .
6 They Safavids wanted to ensure uniformity in religion, so they forced the Iranians into Shiism. Besides, the conversion could have helped in the more natural governance in Iran during that time. The only thing that Shiism has in common with the Islamic religion and the Iranian culture was that they all shared the Arabic language. According to Polk (2011), It also allows the ‘Iranians to proclaim themselves true Muslims but to do so in a way that retained their traditional distinction from the Arabs and their more recent distinction from Ottoman Turks.’
7 Naqqali was a form of art developed in Iran that came in the form of recitations or storytelling. It was used to pass down information from one Iranian generation to the next. Naqqali was also used to educate and entertain. Those who had good voices took as a career and a way of earning a living. The performers of Naqqali had high social status; therefore, it was used as a tool for defining the social position and societal segregation (Polk, 2011).
