Within my neighborhood, I know of a diabetic older man, Mr. M., in his late 60s. I learned about his health condition while interacting with him in a grocery outlet. According to Basu (2020), diabetic patients are vulnerable to diverse health challenges since they suffer from a long-term chronic condition that significantly impacts their immunity. Such an aspect notably impacts their physical well-being as they take various medications and insulin therapy to keep their blood sugar under control. Such patients are also more likely to develop psychological issues due to the trauma experienced in the care process.
