Please Response to Peer 2 Discussion below. I am not looking for a summary of an article. I am looking for new ideas to a topic from peer-reviewed articles for the last 5 years. If you rehash and reiterate something that was already stated in a post or something basic that we all already know, then you will not gain points. Do not state whether you agree or not. I am not interested in your opinions; I would rather you write something interesting. You are not writing social media and opinion pieces. Your posts should be free of bias and opinion. Avoid adjectives like "crucial" and "critical" etc. because in APA, those words must be defined, and because they seem opinionated and biased. Merely state findings and facts. Avoid exaggerated comments to your peers like "that was excellent." Just thank them and write your contribution. If your posts are just repeats of nothing new and filling up white space, then you will not gain points. I do not like fluff. This case study is meant to quell bias and negative attitudes and to gain a deeper understanding of how we look at human behaviors. Personality Disorders, Traits, and Behaviors Infidelity is the most common cause of divorce and it is estimated that 20-25% of all marriages experience infidelity with regard to lifetime prevalence (Gewirtz-Meydan et al., 2023). Although generally disapproved by the majority of Americans, about 2-4% of spouses engage in sexual infidelity per year (Fincham, 2017). The prevalence of romantic infidelity can be accounted due to changes in cultural views of marriage, physical and mental health, and personality traits (Fincham, 2017). Extramarital relationships are associated with depression, anxiety, intimate partner violence, and may even lead to post-traumatic stress disorder (Barraca & Polanski, 2021). Narcissistic traits are positively associated with the probability of having affairs and the number of partners cheated on (Gewirtz-Meydan et al., 2023). Narcissistic individuals’ tendency to seek infidelity can be explained by lack of empathy for others, which reduces the sense of guilt during engagement (Gewirtz-Meydan et al., 2023). Narcissistic personality traits inhibit the ability to experience intimacy due to the perspective of interpersonal relationships being a source of personal enhancement (Gewirtz-Meydan et al., 2023). These unfaithful behaviors may also serve as a mean to induce jealousy and achieve power over romantic partners (Gewirtz-Meydan et al., 2023).
