Both Kanter’s Empowerment model and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Continuous Identification of Research Evidence (CIRE) are reliable tools for informing women about their use of contraceptives and reducing the risk of having unwanted pregnancies. Kanter’s model employs empowerment techniques for women, by offering them up-to-date information on contraceptive use, offering resources, and a golden opportunity to learn and grow. On the other hand, the CIRE system collects data that aligns with WHO’s recommendations on family planning through an online review database (Mohllajee et al., 2017). Therefore, the WHO is able to collect new evidence, perform reviews and analyses, and obtain feedback from peer reviews. According to Mohllajee et al. (2017), current evidence is also sought, which is the core information given to women regarding contraceptive use.
