The homework is the following: Test question analysis assignment. Students will receive the test results to analyze test questions. Calculating the difficulty and discrimination index, evaluating the distractors, determining which question(s) should be discarded, which may need multiple choices accepts, and discuss test characteristics including a summary of item analysis results, information on how the test performed as a whole, distribution of scores on the test and variability and a summary of how you as a teacher would interpret these results in relationship to your teaching and the student’s learning.

Explanation of HW # 2

For this assignment you will see a PDF file of the results of a 40 question test given to a class of 30 students. The analysis results for each question is provided including:

-% of student who chose the correct answer

-% of students who chose one of the other distractors

-Identification of the correct answer

For this assignment you should download the TEMPLATE that you should use to complete this assignment. For this assignment you will do the following

1.Calculate the difficulty index for each question and put it in the table on the template

2.Answer the following questions:

Identifies which are the easiest question(s) and provides rationale explaining why they are easy with supportive evidence

Identifies which question(s) was/were the most difficult & explains why they are the most difficult.

Identifies questions with poor distractors (on template/table) & in narrative provides an explanation why the distractors are problematic and how they should be addressed in future use of this test.

Discusses which question(s) may want to eliminate based on the analysis of the test results, discuss if you would: throw the question out, accept more than one answer or give everyone credit and provides a sound rationale with support from the literature.

Explains in a summary analysis rationale and identifies which critical criteria would be considered when deciding which questions to eliminate and/or change in the future if giving this test

Provides supportive evidence/references from the readings and literature to support your answers.

You will post your answers to some of these questions in our weekly discussion board so you MUST have your homework done on time.
