HIV Global Significant Issues
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a significant global issue with adverse social, economic, and health impacts. There are various issues related to HIV global pandemic. This paper discusses three HIV issues; HIV stigmatization, confidentiality ethical issue, advanced AIDS prevention strategies, and potential solutions and health policies.
Personal Views of Health
From my readings, health involves mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being. People are healthy if they are free from illnesses like HIV and can function well in their environments. Nevertheless, the HIV epidemic has significantly reduced due to advanced and intensive diagnosis and treatment strategies. HIV transmission rates will keep on decreasing since antiretroviral therapy medications are now accessible and affordable to the affected individuals to a greater extent. However, there are still compelling issues for HIV patients despite the dramatic decrease in HIV transmission. HIV patients experience health issues related to their illness, such as stigmatization, confidentiality, and new HIV preventive programs.

HIV stigmatization is a significant global issue among people living with HIV. Stigmatization adversely affects HIV patients' treatment or health outcomes and quality of life (Tran et al., 2019). It makes patients living with HIV experience shame, stress, denial, suicidal ideas, and social isolation within healthcare, interpersonal, workplace, and community environments. Healthcare providers, community members and caregivers could have discrimination and negative attitudes against HIV patients, increasing the stigmatization issue. Tran et al. (2019) explained that HIV stigmatization in health facilities hinders adequate access, adherence, or utilization of HIV treatment, causing poor health outcomes.
