Discussion: Finding and Analyzing Scientific Sources
Research is sometimes straightforward, depending on the topic under discussion. While starting to find materials for the discourse about how cells reproduce, I thought that it would be easy to find materials that directly tackle the area, considering the seeming simplicity of the topic. However, when I embarked on the activity, I realized that the internet is overloaded with diverse resources covering the research area. This outcome made it hectic, confusing, and tiresome to skim through the different types of articles, journals, and website results to find the most relevant ones to use (Sodaughi et al., 2017). An example to demonstrate the gravity of this challenge is that my keywords and phrases brought over 63 million results on google and approximately 2 million more on google scholar. As a result, it took me a significant amount of time sifting through the internet to settle on sources that add value to my work.
