Nursing is one of the most important professions in the medical field. One reason is that the nurse is an intermediary between the patient and the doctor. For the nurse to perform the tasks effectively, the nurse should have the freedom to exercise their power. However, there are some factors which are limiting the nurse's ability to exercise their power. For example, the nature of the hospital is likely to affect the nurse's ability to exercise the power. One instance that which the hospital could affect the nurse's power is whether the health care facility offers the nurse the required resources to cater to the patient. Lack of enough resources, therefore, limits the nurse's power to exercise their power (Sánchez-Sánchez et al., 2021). Moreover, the rate at which the hospital gives the nurse freedom to perform their power would likely limit the nurse from functioning effectively.
