I caught her in the bathroom with a syringe full of medication that was to be given to a patient. As the charge nurse, maintaining patient safety and ethical obligations, I immediately called the nursing supervisor and informed her about the situation. The main stakeholders involved in the conflict are the peer, myself, and the nursing supervisor. The behavior of my peer had put patients at risk, violated nursing ethics, and breached the team's integrity in terms of care. A confrontation and reporting process resolved the conflict. In this case, the nursing supervisor had to act by privately confronting the nurse in question, as stated in the hospital's protocols.
