Moral distress is something nursing experience every day. Moral distress can be referred to as those situations when a person knows the right thing to do, but institutional controls make it impossible for one to follow the right course of action. There are several instances where nurses can experience moral distress. Last week while on duty, medics and nurses experienced moral distress. The patient was very sick, and it was clear he would not make it. However, the family wanted the doctors to do everything to survive.
