How does the cardiorespiratory system function?
The cardiorespiratory system comprises the blood, vessels or arteries, and heart. In other words, it is a combination of respiratory and cardiovascular systems. The primary function of the cardiorespiratory system is transporting nutrients and oxygenated blood to different parts of the body. In addition, deoxygenated blood is taken back to the lungs (Sherrell, 2021). For example, during physical exercises, more oxygen is required by muscles due to contraction. Besides, the carbon dioxide needs to be removed from the body through exhalation. As such, the cardiorespiratory system facilitates the proper functioning of one’s body.

Specifically, people should improve their cardiorespiratory system in various ways. For instance, engaging in regular physical exercises is essential for individuals' cardiorespiratory fitness.
