Improving Nurse-to-Patient Ratios Name Institution Course and Code Professor Date Improving Nurse-to-Patient Ratios Topic The nursing profession has in recent years become stressful and extremely demanding as a result of the associated variety and intensity of the work environment, underlying risk factors, and various situations that nurses encounter. These factors contribute highly to nurse burnout, leading to a decline in emotional, psychological, and physical energy because of prolonged exposure to demanding work, frequently affecting interpersonal skills, job performance, job satisfaction, and psychological health (Richemond et al., 2022). In my work setting, nurse burnout is a prevalent and ongoing issue. Therefore, one change that I would like to see occur is the improvement of the ratios of nurses to patients to reduce burnout and enhance patient care. Adjusting the staffing ratio would allow for a more manageable workload, providing nurses with the time and energy needed to provide high-quality care (Richemond et al., 2022). Driving forces influence change by pushing employees toward the envisioned direction, while restraining forces hinder progress by pulling them in the opposite direction, making it harder to advance the change (Kritsonis, 2005). Therefore, I believe this theory is suitable because it can help shift the balance toward the desired change through its three stages: unfreezing, changing, and refreezing (Current Nursing, n.d.). Given the complexity of modifying staffing ratios, this framework provides a structured approach to ensure that...
