Abstract
Kinaesthetic learning or tactile learning refers to a style of learning by doing. It involves active movement. This paper looks at how the Application of Content in the InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards highlights the need for kinaesthetic learning. The analysis explores an artifact- a journal article about active learning, and an activity, which is an interactive webinar for moving strategies. Both resources assist with the development of kinaesthetic teaching strategies. Also, the biblical input, Proverbs 22: 6, provides an insight into a teacher's responsibility regarding different learners and learning techniques. Overall, the analysis shows how teachers can adopt kinaesthetic learning in the classroom to help students learn better and improve their understanding skills in a wide range of topics.
Artifacts and Activities Paper: Developing Kinaesthetic Learning Strategies
Introduction
Presently, it is essential to use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners considering the diverse nature of learning settings. Kinaesthetic learning is one important strategy, involving physical movements and hands-on activities to help learners to understand different concepts through varying perspectives. This activity paper focuses on Standard 5 of InTASC, which emphasizes the application of content through meaningful learning experiences. Even though it is important, kinaesthetic learning is seldom used in a traditional classroom setting that is auditory and visual orientated. That is partly because most educators have not explored the technique and the potential benefits that it could have on learners. To gain a better insight into the technique, read a journal on adopting active learning. Also, I attended a meaningful webinar on using students’ movements in learning settings. Moreover, I relied on an analysis of Proverbs 22:6 which depicts an understanding of different learning styles for training and their protracted characteristics.

InTASC Standard #5: Application of Content acknowledges the importance of using content to engage students and deepen their understanding of learning objectives. Kinaesthetic learning supports this standard by using direct experiential learning techniques that help students process and retain information. However, educators find this difficult due to their environment being very lecture-based most of the time. Seeing this gap, I wanted to find avenues that would help to create strategies necessary to add movement and hands-on learning to lesson designs.
