Additionally, the student is given a chance to show how these pieces can be applied in real life situations and their significances. Henceforth, as a major in business and writing and a minor in sociology, I have the ability to implement ideas, principles, theories and methods in any professional writing sample. For instance, one of the most important things to do for a business writing sample is to come up with a viable business topic and give reliable evidence from different sources supporting it. A good topic should be brief and clear to point on the intention for the study. The study sample is titled “The role of farming experience on the adoption of agricultural technologies.” Using different sources, the study throws emphases on the impact of technology in agriculture. One of interesting aspect brought out in the sample is the benefits gained by farmers in adopting new farming techniques in agribusiness. Grounded on different sources the article asserts that technology is a key factor in ensuring high agricultural produce. Additionally, the implementation of technology plays a vital role in coping with the inconsistent rainfall; thus, necessitating irrigation.
From the sample, it is evident that in any of my professional writing I will apply ideas, theories, principles and methods essential for business or sociology in enlightening the public. For instance, in the study I mentioned technologies such as the greenhouse, genetically engineering, biotechnology, advances in cattle farming and information technology, and exemplified their benefits to farmers and the nation in general. A good example is in the United States where with technology one farmer can feed approximately 155 people in a day compared to the old-style farming approaches that allowed one farmer to feed only 20 individuals. Additionally, with the skills, farmers would not be affected by climatic conditions that deprived them their resources in using tradition methods. In business these aspects could enhance production and help overcome challenges; thus, increasing profits.

In my business, where I have majored, I use scientific methods and logical thoughts in spelling out ideas, theories, methods or principles so as to enhance a better understanding, for instance, in writing a business plan for an organization. Additionally, this would be more beneficial in sociology. Teamwork and collaboration are other factors that motivate a team towards achieving their goal. On the other hand, this journal details that the changes in technological farm equipment have to a larger extent impacted the way farmers engage in farming. In the past decades, farmers were forced to conduct fieldwork through the use of their hands or animal-drawn equipment, an aspect that would take a longer time in completing. Animals were considered as slow and would require intervals of rest. However, today, farmers have incorporated farm equipment such as tractors including other motorized technological equipment in aiding their fieldwork. The tractors are large and have the capacity to move faster as compared to other farm animals, thus enabling farmers to till more land and grow much food that meets the needs of consumers.
This passage reveals challenges farmers face and how technology has helped solve these issues. It demonstrates how tractors and other motorized technological equipment reduced energies and time spent in fieldwork. Thus, increase farm yields and hence, making agriculture one of the most profitable business.
