Public Relations Management
Below you will find two sections, with 11 questions. You must answer TWO of the three questions from Section A; and in Section B, you can choose any FOUR questions. In the end, you will have completed six questions, each valued at 12 points, for a total of 72 points. The overall quality of your writing will be assessed at between one and eight points. Be sure to indicate the number of each chosen question. Answer all questions completely, within the guidelines for length noted below. Format and Length: Short essay form is preferred, but outlines are acceptable if/when appropriate. Please type your responses, doublespaced, and save a copy of your submission for yourself. Each question 1 should be a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 500 words—using 10- point type as a minimum and 12-point type as a maximum. APA Style is required. (This equates roughly to one page minimum to two pages maximum.) Citations: For each question, give at least two distinct reference citations used in creating your response. (That means do not use the same source in any one question.) Place the citations at the end of each response, not at the end of the exam. A bibliography at the end of the exam is not necessary. Again, APA Style is required.
Question 2 Section A
The public relations field is moving towards consistency, transparency, and honesty. Most trends in public relations revolve around the growing need for leaders who demonstrate the three values when interacting with employees, customers, and the general public. In the future, both organizations and leaders will have to take responsibility for their actions and be honest about their mistakes or risk losing people’s confidence and trust. The public wants authentic enterprises that engage with all stakeholders in an honest and trustworthy way to build trust and sustainability. This trend in PR is driven by various issues such as concern over trust, less brand loyalty, growing market awareness, focus on sustainability, greater patriotism, concern over information security, and greater consumer power.
Question #3 Section A
Based on this semester’s readings, discussion, outside research, and my personal experience and observations, the ideal work environment for me is one where diversity is encouraged and managers encourage accountability and personal development. I want to work in an environment where leaders. The ideal work environment is one where managers maintain open communication channels with their staff and lead change by modeling new behaviors or practices. The roles played by ideal managers in this environment include crafting internal/change communications effort, developing an organizational plan and strategy, helping employees understand the business reality and competitive situation, modeling ethical behaviors and practices, as well as helping staff achieve personal and career growth.

As a first-time manager, my strengths will include maintaining open communication channels with staff and articulating organizational strategy.
