First Impressions
After reading the tutorial once, what are your first impressions? What will the reader be taught?
Aside from the organization, the use of labels was very helpful for guiding the viewers.
First Impressions - Novice Audience?
Does it tell novice users what they need to know about the system? Does it give them enough background and context to get them started learning the details? If you did not know anything about this system, would this paper help get you started?
Aside from the guides in setting up the tutorial, the visual element for novice audience is also very helpful.
First Impressions - Tutorial Clarity
Is the tutorial well organized and easy to follow? If yes, what organization is used that worked? If not, what was the issue, and how can the organization be improved?
I also believe that the organization is already effective enough.
First Impressions - Formatting Issues
Are there any mechanical, formatting, or presentation errors that get in the way of reading the tutorial? If so, be specific on the issues. If not, what features of the presentation style do you like?
I haven’t seen any errors in formatting or presentation.
Second Look
Read the tutorial a second time, but follow the application's steps (be sure to read the remaining criteria before proceeding). Make brief comments about each step/section that you feel the author does well and what can be improved. Focus your comments on the organization and content; do not spend much time proofreading for spelling or grammatical errors (which is the author's job). WHICH STEP/SECTION COULD USE THE MOST IMPROVEMENT?
I believe that all of the sections were already good enough, but it may be best to use bigger fonts for emphasizing important information.
Second Look - Reader Assumptions
Does the author make appropriate assumptions about what the reader already knows? If not, why are they inappropriate?
The author really catered this for beginners.
Second Look - Tutorial Main Points
Does the author make it clear the main points to be taught at the beginning of the tutorial? If so, are they appropriate, and is the presentation of these points clear? If not, where and what improvements need to be made?
The presentation of the points are already clear enough for me.
Second Look - Main Points Reader Comprehension
How well do you think the audience will understand the main points after reading this introduction? What are the audience takeaways? Are they appropriate, and how can they be improved?
I believe that the audience would benefit by having an initial background based on the introduction.
Second Look - "increase the signal."
How did the author "increase the signal" when guiding the reader? Was there redundancy encoded into the document? Where could the author use these techniques to improve the tutorial?
Yes, the supplementary visual elements helped increased the signal.
Second Look - Effectiveness
What would make this introduction and tutorial more effective? Specify one improvement to be made.
Aside from the usage of GIFs it might also be better to add a little bit audio.
Second Look - Effectiveness 2
What would make this introduction and tutorial more effective? Specify a second improvement to be made.
I believe that this is already good enough.
Second Look - Paragraph Organization
How well is the paper organized at the paragraph level? Does each paragraph have a clear purpose? Does each paragraph flow into the next? Does the opening paragraph engage you and make you want to read further? Does the closing paragraph summarize what has been explained?
The follow of information was effective for any reader.
Second Look - Step-by-step Presentation/Organization
How well are the steps of the tutorial presented and explained? Are bullets and indentation used appropriately? How can the author make the steps clearer to the reader? Are there any steps that should be combined or split? If so, which one?
It was explained enough and I think there is no need to split it anymore.
Second Look - Images/Figures
Are figures used appropriately and effectively? Advice on improvements (more figures, fewer figures, combine figures, edit figures to direct attention). Do the figures have captions and labels which are referred to in the text? Are they used appropriately?
Use of audio or video for trickier parts of usage.
