1. Zinsser and Brock give different opinions on how professional writers should handle their feelings concerning writing. Brock argues that writers should doge their work if they are not feeling so well, but Zinsser believes that writers should set schedules and stick to them (Zinsser, 2006). The latter claims that writing is a craft and not art (Zinsser, 2006). Thus, anyone running from their works is not only fooling themselves but also attracting poverty (Zinsser, 2006).
2. Zinsser avoids using symbols since they always lead to losing the meaning of what he intended to write about (Zinsser, 2006). He states that he always ends up not knowing what he has conveyed in his own work whenever he uses symbols (Zinsser, 2006).
3. Zinsser and Brock differ significantly. As writers, they have different opinions on the subject. While Brock argues that writing is easy, Zinsser says it is neither easy nor fun (Zinsser, 2006). According to the latter, writing is not something anyone would enjoy since it is lonely, and words seldom flow (Zinsser, 2006). On the other hand, Brock says he sheds his tension through writing after long hours of work, and words just flow (Zinsser, 2006).
4. The process of writing entails a transaction between the heart and the mind (Zinsser, 2006). This coordination results in the realization of both warmth and humanity since the strengthening of the script is dependant on who the writer is.
5. Writing is hard because though the words may sometimes flow, they need strength and clarity to convince readers to understand and accept the purpose of the text.
Simplicity
6. Simplicity is an understandable and orderly presentation of what is in the writer's mind in a way that readers will not struggle to understand what the former made in a particular presentation (Zinsser, 2006). It varies from clutter as the readers encountering clutter must strain to get the meaning in a text.
7. The secret of good writing is bringing out every sentence to its cleanest components (Zinsser, 2006). For example, the use of voices correctly ensures the reader understands the roles of the different people in writing.
8. A reader is someone with an attention span of 30 minutes, assailed by competition of attention of various forces (Zinsser, 2006). Writers face multiple obstacles to reach the reader, including their intention of writing and if the purpose is fulfilled at the end of the script.
9. The reader should not strain to understand the writer (Zinsser, 2006). The latter should make sure that their work is explicit and makes sense to the target audience to ensure that readers can maintain a continuous pace without constraints.
10. Clutter entails the use of incorrect grammar in writing (Zinsser, 2006). For example, unnecessary words in a sentence and complicated sentence constructions may not make sense to the reader.
11. Clutter is the deviation of the correct use of grammar in the construction of sentences and statements of claims. For example, it is cluttered to say ‘at this point in time and uncluttered to say now’ (Zinsser, 2006).

12. Although some people may not recognize clutter, deep readers who probably take action as a passion can identify clutter at a glance. Some people can even understand what the writer intended to state in clutter. For instance, saying 'a personal friend of mine is clutter.' A simple sentence would just refer to the person as a friend (Zinsser, 2006).
13. Zinsser used brackets to identify and eradicate clutter from his working by giving the bracketed words, phrases, or sentences the sacred existence of their prose (Zinsser, 2006). According to him, they could be wrong but have a significant meaning to work.
