Importance of a New POS System for Kimball’s Restaurant
The primary importance of a new point-of-sale (POS) system for Kimball’s Restaurant is to track and maintain customer activity and incentives (“Kimball’s Restaurant: Planning Loyalty,” n.d.). In particular, Tyler was investigating the significance of implementing an information system to meet two strategies. They include giving customers incentives at the new Lakeside location and building their loyalty to increase sales. In that light, Tyler found out that the restaurant requires a new POS that would record and track customers’ activities to facilitate the incentive program. Another advantage of a new POS would be to improve the ease of managing food costs, which is essential in growing profits in the restaurant business.
