The two topics that I will apply for future writing assignments are analysis and synthesis. Through analysis, I will present the right answers and show my thinking about a given issue or topic before concluding what might be correct. Besides, through analysis, I will ask myself questions concerning a specific issue or topic, offer a discussion of the available evidence, and explain the purpose by guiding the reader to undergo the same thought process to arrive at some conclusion. On the other hand, the synthesis will be a critical part of my future writing assignments since it connects various sectors to a more comprehensive conclusion. Besides, through synthesis, research from multiple sources can be combined to a common understanding (Sivaraman & Krishna, 2015). Normally, essays require information from various sources. Since one piece has to cover a single topic or come to a single conclusion, it is necessary to apply synthesis to connect these sources and arrive at a single conclusion.
The two topics that I did not quite understand are application and evaluation. I did not quite understand the application concept because I could not comprehend what it means by inserting quotes into writing that had no apparent application. Rather, explaining a connection between a quote and what is being discussed was not brought out clearly.
