Art examine and note takeing

Coursework Instructions:
Photos of the exhibit and artworks will be attached. Central to the success of the project will be your ability to convey clearly both specific sensory information about the exhibit (what you see, hear, etc.) AND what you find to be significant about this sensory experience. In order to do this well, you must spend substantial time—at least three hours—observing and experiencing, and significant time writing copious notes both as you observe and after you observe. These notes are essential to the success of the paper, as they will be the record of the evidence you will use as you build your review. It is in the act of note taking that you begin to process the raw material of the experience. Photos and videos of artwork are not notes. In your notes, you should write detailed descriptions of everything you see, the thoughts and questions you have while you’re observing the art, and details about anything that is part of the experience you are having in the museum or gallery. I encourage you to ignore any explanatory material that the museum or gallery presents along with the artwork. However, if you do read any of it, you will need to take notes on it, and indicate clearly in your notes which pieces of information and language come from this material. If these ideas or language end up in your paper, you must cite them properly. Because you will not know the focus of your paper until after you visit the exhibit, your notes will necessarily contain substantially more information than appears in your final paper. You should write down everything in detail; you won’t know what’s important until you begin drafting. If you take notes properly, you will be submitting multiple pages of detailed notes. It just notes and doesn't need to be that formal. I have written some notes already; feel free to add to it.

Note Taking in Artworks Name Institution Course and Code Professor Date Note Taking in Artworks I walked in, hearing music from other exhibits, somewhat encouraging I saw nine art pieces, of course, all made of clay The longest art piece, in the middle of the room, caught my eye. Very colorful, mainly green, and has a few red and blue on it. I felt fear throughout my body upon viewing this piece at first glance. The snake-like figure is long, shiny and slimy outside, with the skin looking like it has scales. A feature that caught me about the snake-like object is the part in the middle, which appears to be separating the figure. The art piece is also separated into parts, which affects the smooth flow of the piece. It reminds me of snakes, but no tail nor head; replaced with two hands? Interesting Right hand and left hand, mirrored in the middle. These hands had five long fingers, similar to those of a female body but a bit longer than a human being. Could they represent part of a body? The gesture might have some meanings. There are lots of tiny holes scattered around the art pieces; nails are fixed in some places. Does it give me a feeling of dancing? I felt that this art could be connected to the ideas of the snake in the Bible, which could deceive a woman, thus the female-like hands. The hands appear as if they are in a seductive manner, which means people can easily fall prey to what they consider beautiful and out of the ordinary. The spine part has a metal interface; it's empty inside. The emptiness of the mental interface could be an art element aiming to make the piece light to carry it around for exhibition.   Looking more around, this room's lighting and vibe give me a sense of enlightenment. It doesn't mean it's a divine place here, but I have peaceful and curious thoughts. These are abstract art, but I can somehow…understand it? It feels like I have the right and will to imagine what is happening and its meanings. The following art piece that caught my eye is a clay pot….at least looks like one. It hangs from the ceiling, held by six strains from its 6 top tubes. Before examining it closer, its shadow on the wall caught my eye. It looks like a human heart. The shadow projected on the wall has more rounded edges, and those tubes' shadows are like arteries coming out of a heart. The piece appeared like it was shattered which I felt like it represented human life. People go through different phases of their lives where they are hurt, left disappointed, and hopeless due to failure. The piece of art shows the challenges people pass through, but they still have to push on with their lives. On second thought, it also looks like a ritual mask from the ancient era… Take a closer look; black streaks alm...
