The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ are the largest and second largest stock exchanges in the world. Both the NYSE and the NASDAQ are based in New York and the two institutions are publicly-traded corporations, while traders can trade in either platform or both. However, there are differences as the NYSE allows individuals to transact with each other in auction while the NASDAQ facilitates trading among dealers. Coca-Cola Co (KO) is listed on the NYSE and Starbucks Corporation (SBUX) is listed on NASDAQ
