Chlamydia is a general STI that affects both men and women. The infection can lead to critical permanent damage to a woman’s reproductive system affecting her ability to get pregnant. I would use verbal communication and a flipchart to educate Becky about the dangers of chlamydia and other STIs. Verbal communication will allow me to get quick feedback from Becky if she fails to understand any concept. Quick feedback is necessary for communication since it allows the receiver to clarify doubts quickly (Feldman et al., 2019). Verbal communication facilitates the quick exchange of ideas and thoughts hence saving time. Also, it would help me effectively persuade Becky to change her sexual behavior to increase her safety on STI. In addition to verbal communication, I would use a flip chart to convey my message to Becky on chlamydia and other STIs (Speck et al., 2020). Communication through flip charts is easy and engaging since it draws more attention to the discussed concept. During the flip chart presentation, Becky can ask questions. The drawings create a sense of informality to the conversation allowing her to feel that she can politely interrupt and contribute more dialogue to the conversation.
